Where to Hunt

When November rolls around, a specific type of hunting fever sets in across the Show-Me State as snow geese travel south from Canada and Alaska. Dedicated waterfowl hunters from across Missouri and out-of-state start prepping to bag out on sky chickens. 

Spend enough time in the field and sooner or later, you'll come across something that you haven't seen before. The deer kingdom is no exception.

With a rigid stocking program and dedication to public land access, Ohio is coming into its own as a pheasant hunting state.

Muleys are a mainstay of the North American hunting list and a symbol of a classic Western hunt. As you plan your hunts this season, you need to know the best states to hit up for a mule deer hunt.

In the crisp fall air, the excitement of a Wisconsin pheasant hunter is hard to match. It could be the excitement and companionship of the dogs working hard to flush roosters. Or it could be that brief opportunity when a bird shoots out of cover and you raise your shotgun and get a decent shot. 

It's hard to deny that Colorado is one of, if not the most, beautiful states when it comes to hunting environments and landscapes. Throw in your shotgun, canine best friend, and a couple of well-conditioned pheasants, and you've got the makings of a great upland hunt.

The dove hunting season always promises a great time. With fast-paced shooting, accessible opportunities, and welcoming communities across the top dove hunting states, it's hard to beat in terms of satisfaction and social networking.

As the days grow shorter, hunters across the country start studying weather forecasts and watching the skies for one of the greatest marvels in the natural world: the fall waterfowl migration. 

Montana elk season dates for 2026 feature Archery (September 5 – October 18), General Rifle (October 24 – November 29), and Muzzleloader (December 12 – 20). Additional rules apply for specific backcountry units and shoulder management hunts.

Grouse are naturally cautious, using dense thickets and forest cover to hide from both ground and aerial predators. To achieve success in the field when targeting these birds, you'll need to learn and understand the typical environments that they depend on for survival.
